After a Lousy Day

After a lousy day that starts off with a killer toothache; after a lousy start—three fights on the playground (but the older students broke it up—I only had to discipline); after a lousy reading period; after a lousy, tasteless and very smelly lunch (which was impossible to eat); after a lousy party that caused friction and other bad things to happen (temper tantrums from seventh grade girls who did not qualify to attend and then their guardians saying they had a right to go to the party anyway even though the instructor claimed they did not qualify); after a lousy look at the standardized testing scores of the sixth graders; after all of this—

What a thrill to come home to you, to hear your voice, to forget the lousiness in the day, to not even have to talk about it or relive it because you are there—smiling and beautiful and everything that is not lousy at all.

After a lousy day, thank you for a perfect evening.

Love forever and always, Michael
