RUMI, the 13th Century Said it Best

Dearest Deborah,

when you hide
i change
to a Godless person

and when you
appear
i find my faith

--Rumi, 13th century poet, "Only You"

I could not have said it better.

Love always and forever, Michael

Springtime

Dearest Deborah,

The sky is blue, the breeze is just the right length and width, and everything is perfect in the world.

How do I love you? Like salt on fish, like lemon in tea, like chocolate with milk.

I love you this much and more.

Later let us find the better things within us and let me help you to find life’s glory and being.

Love forever and always, Michael

A BEAUTIFUL DAY

Dearest Deborah,

You had to see her. She had so much poise and rhythm and she was so tall and her stature was fantastic. She was perfect.

Our daughter danced today like a queen dances.

Of course, I saw everything good in her and knew all of it came from you and your love and guidance.

That's why I love you so much.

Love forever and always,

Michael

SPRINGTIME AND LOVE

Dearest Deborah,

Springtime and love is all around us.

Springtime and the clouds linger in a bright sky full of every potential.

Springtime and the songbirds cock their feathers into shapes and cartoons, into movements in wait of love songs and companionship.

I come into the spring day with appreciation on my tongue—appreciation for the food you cook, the home you keep, the ideas you share.

I believe we are in need of an appreciation day—not Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day, but just a plain and simple cause the songbirds are back and the sky is beautiful and the clouds are peaceful and you are my wife Appreciation Day.

Love always and forever, Michael

AN APOLOGY

Dearest Deborah,

Do you want to know how much I appreciate you? I could not live another day without knowing that you were in my life, in my heart, a part of my soul. How much do I appreciate you? An infinity of grains of sand, every angel in heaven, every drop of rain falling into every ocean—none of this would be a number high enough.

Love always and forever,

Michael

Love of my Life

Dearest Deborah,

I love you so much I can't help myself.

I lied to you. I'm sorry. I hurt you so badly I cannot even think. I hurt the children with my behavior. I'm sorry.

Please find it in your heart to forgive me.

Please.

Love always and forever,

Michael

MY ANGEL

Dearest Deborah,

I sing to my angel
I bask in her glory
I dance with my angel,
I adore her story.

I walk in her footprints,
I put on her shoes,
I run with my angel,
I have a clue.

I read with my angel,
I show her I care.
My angel’s most wonderful,
I can’t help but to stare.

Love always and forever, Michael
